A Message from the Principal
Dear Woodridge Families:
Welcome to Woodridge Elementary and Alamo Heights ISD. This is a
great place for students to learn and grow, where staff and parents are
committed to a partnership that helps students reach their potential and
a community that values and supports education!
We have more than 900 first through fifth grade students who
come to school each day with a thirst for knowledge and a love of
learning. More than 90 experienced and caring staff members are
dedicated to building a culture where students not only learn, but also
build friendships and create memories that last a lifetime. Dedication
to Woodridge is apparent in the volunteers at school, which includes
everything from shelving books in the library, reading in a classroom,
tutoring students in math, working at the annual fall carnival to
serving on a number of campus committees. The result of this
involvement is a culture in which staff, students and parents become the
If you are part of the Woodridge family, I know you share my
sense of pride in our school. If you are not already a part of the
Woodridge family, then I invite you to visit us and see why Woodridge is
indeed, a wonderful place for students to learn and grow!
A little bit about myself:
I was born in Austin, Texas and have lived in Texas all of my
life, except for my college years in Arizona. I have my BA in
Elementary Education from Arizona State University and MA from Sam
Houston State University. I am married to my husband, Keith, and
between the two of us we have three children and five (soon to be six)
grandchildren. When I’m not at school I love to read, shop, watch or
attend sporting events and spend time with my family.
I strive to keep children’s success at the heart of everything
I do. I have high expectations for myself, as well as for our students
and staff. I take great pride in leading with integrity and value
communication and parental support. I look forward to working together
to make this year a HUGE success!
